米マイクロソフトと加ノーテルは11日（現地時間）、ユニファイド・コミュニケーション・ソリューション4製品を発表した。 今回発表されたのは、ノーテルのCommunication Server（CS） 1000 IP-PBX、またはCS 2100 IP-PBXの包括的な音声機能をMicrosoft Office Communications Server 2007上で実現する「Nortel Converged Office」、Office Communications Server 2007のメディエーションサーバー機能をNortel Secure Router 4134に統合するとともに、WANルーティング、イーサネット・スイッチング、セキュリティ、高品質VoIP機能をコスト効率に優れた単一のプラットフォームにまとめた「UC Integrated Branch」、ノーテルのCommunication Server 2000ソフトスイッチにマイクロソフトのOffice Communications Server 2007とExchange Server 2007 Unified Messagingとを組み合わせた「Carrier Hosted Unified Communications Solution」、予約不要の電話カンファレンス・ソリューションを提供する「Nortel Multimedia Conferencing 5.0 for Office Communications Server 2007」。 両社は、今後はFully Hosted Unified CommunicationsやContact Center Integrationのソリューション提供に注力することを計画している。
